Rolling Hills Coalition

Supported by Central Iowa Shelter & Services, the Rolling Hills Coalition (RHC) was founded in June 2020. The program began in response to the realization that people experiencing homelessness in other parts of the state were leaving their communities to seek services in Des Moines. People no longer have to leave home to find housing.

The RHC helps individuals in eligible counties search for housing in their area and assists with the deposit, first month’s rent, and a landlord mitigation fund. Additional efforts, like Point in Time (PIT), are being organized to showcase prevalence and promote awareness. PIT is a method of counting and documenting homeless individuals in a system used in multiple organizations that serve this population.

Rolling Hills Coalition serves the following 15 counties in Iowa: Appanoose, Davis, Iowa, Jasper, Jefferson, Keokuk, Lucas, Mahaska, Marion, Monroe, Poweshiek, Van Buren, Warren, Wapello, and Wayne.
