CACFP & Community Kitchen Operator

The CACFP Community Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for the overall development, implementation, coordination, management and evaluation of the nutrition program to promote an interest in nutrition, commitment to meeting children’s nutritional needs and an understanding of nutrition’s impact on child development.

Food Truck Operator

The food truck manager is responsible for managing food service operations within the food truck. This is a multi-faceted, well-rounded position that will require someone with both experience and a solid work ethic.

HOPE Center Intern

Part-time unpaid internship. The internship is an academic opportunity to learn about the reality of homelessness in Polk County and Central Iowa; to learn how to make appropriate referrals to CISS services and those offered by community partners.

Intro to Human Services Intern

Collaborate with the Operations Team with the objective to support the mission of Central Iowa Shelter & Services and the clients served by assisting clients with all of their needs while establishing and maintaining an environment for clients that is consistent with agency values.

Maintenance Worker

The general maintenance position is responsible for independently performing regular preventive and routine of mechanical, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, life safety and plumbing systems. Central Iowa Shelter & Services is willing to work with enrolled college students schedule.

Shelter Advocate

The Shelter Assistant is collaborative supporter and a member of the Operations Team with the objective to support the mission of Central Iowa Shelter & Services and the clients served by assisting clients with all of their needs while establishing and maintaining an environment for clients that is consistent with agency values.
