Without sitting down and truly talking with Nancy, and simply judging her by a quick glance, you might never realize that she is a deeply open and giving person. Nancy has an ability to see both the good and the bad in people, and she feels that others are naturally drawn to her. She believes people are called to her presence, especially during moments when connection and understanding are needed most.
If Nancy’s flower arrangement had a name, she says it would be called Healing in Time for the Future. The name is also an ode to one of her most meaningful recent accomplishments, getting her hip replacement surgery completed. This medical step has brought her relief, allowing her to move with less pain and greater comfort, and it represents a turning point in her physical healing.
If her life were a movie, Nancy would title it This Too Shall Pass. The name reflects her belief that even the hardest moments are temporary and that strength is found in perseverance. Nancy puts her whole heart into everything she does, and that same effort and care went into her flower arrangement. She wants whoever takes her arrangement home to remember to believe in themselves, to expand their mind, and to trust that they can accomplish anything they truly set their heart to.
Nancy hopes to soon have a home of her own where she can live with stability and peace. During her time at CISS, she has relied on her faith and her belief in a higher power to get through the most difficult days. She shares that she often speaks with her family in heaven, taking time every day to communicate with them, find comfort, and feel their presence as they watch over her.
Nancy wants people to know that this period of her life has been one of the hardest challenges she has ever faced, especially at her age. Even so, she identifies herself as a survivor. Her life has been filled with many hardships and obstacles, but she takes pride in how far she has come. Nancy believes that making it this far is a testament to her resilience, strength, and unbreakable spirit.
